Sticky Johnson is proudly owned and operated in Kumeu, Auckland. Not far from one of Auckland’s most popular beach and all Sticky Employees local surf spot, Maori Bay, Muriwai. Over half of the Employees here Live in Muriwai, a 40 minute drive North West from Auckland’s CBD. It’s picturesque, the waves are raw and usually huge (and shit) but we love it. 

Muriwai is one of the best testing grounds for our products and especially our waxes. This is due to things like debris, silt, and algae that lurk throughout the water. This is because of the huge cliffs that border the land and sea, combined with the Manukau Harbour current that runs up the west coast towards us.

When the waves are raw and powerful like they always seem to be, it tests our other products as well. Our legropes go through thick and thin saving our lives every session it seems. Our tailpads have to stick on when a busload of water explodes overtop of them. Muriwai, Home, tests our products’ durability in the harshest environment, meaning if it works in Muriwai it will work anywhere.

That is why we support grassroots surfing, like the Sticky Johnson Primary School Champs hosted by Surfing New Zealand that we look forward to every year. We support countless amounts of surfing competitions, from National Champs to Local Bardriders comps, they are all supported by Sticky Johnson Wax.

And of course we have the best of the best surfers on our Team! We have Olympian surfer Billy Stairmand, ex Championship Tour Surfers Paige Hareb and Maz Quinn, National Champions, Regional Champions, and some of the best up and coming surfers from Australia, we have them all! 

Our craftsmanship is through the combination of hard work and dedication to create the best surf wax in the world, right here in New Zealand. We believe we are on our way to completing this goal, and it’s through our constant support from people like you.
